JV STEVEDORING

Steamships JV Stevedoring are located at major ports around PNG, and offer a full range of ship handling facilities. With a considerable fleet of specialist equipment and terminal management experience, Stevedoring provides a comprehensive, well maintained service to all vessels calling ports around PNG. They are capable of handling all types of containers, as well as project cargo, breakbulk, RO-RO, LO-LO and grains.

Joint Ventures

The stevedoring companies are joint venture partnerships between Steamships and local landowner groups at the ports operated. The structure of the companies allows for earnings from each of the company's operations to filter back into the communities where we operate. Each of the company's has a policy to employ, where possible, from these communities, also providing skills and people development. The companies employ nearly 700 permanent and casual staff, across the country.
