Steamships maintain high standards of Health, Safety, Security and Environment practice across the organisation. The company continues to implement stringent safety systems and standards, and measure and monitor performance against these standards, as a critical element of its operations in PNG.

Steamships recognizes the overriding importance of providing a safe and secure workplace for all of its staff, customers and contractors. Consequently, an ever increasing focus is placed within the divisions and at board level on monitoring the success of the Company in reducing the number of incidents relating to health and safety.

Steamships continues to innovate and develop initiatives including regular ‘tool box’ meetings to discuss HSS&E matters, frequent training sessions, promotion of safe work practices through posters in English and Tok Ples.
